History of
the Book of Haggai
This
Minor Prophet of God, Haggai preaches a fiery series of
short sermons designed to stir up the nation to finish
the reconstruction of the Temple. This prophesy took
place in 520 B.C. He encouraged the Jews to get their
priorities back in order by building the central
sanctuary of God. Until they would do that their labor
was no longer blessed by God. When the people put the
Lord first by completing the task God had set before
them, then His hand of blessing will once again be upon
them. Haggai has four messages for the people. First the
completion of the latter temple. Second, the glory of
the latter temple. Third, the present blessings of
obedience and last the future blessings of obedience.
Even though Haggai is the second shortest book in the
Old Testament having only two chapters, it is packed
with information for both us now and the people back
then. Read this book and pray about what it is God is
calling you to complete in your life.

Thank You for hearing our prayer Holy Lord.
